Spatial genome biology

Imaging and modelling the relationship between epigenetic state, chromatin folding, and genome function.

My work on chromosome biology began with Boolean modelling of the histone code and developed into direct super-resolution imaging of DNA and epigenetic modifications.

I characterised nanoscale patterns along meiotic chromosomes, contributed to the discovery of reversible chromatin compaction under stress, and continue to develop an imaging-guided view of genome structure that connects molecular modifications to three-dimensional organisation.
